Alzheimer’s And Aluminum In Brain Tissue – True Link Found By Scientist

Image result for aluminum in the brain alzheimer's

By Heather Callaghan

We’re living in the “Age of Aluminum” according to Chris Exley, PhD of England. Do you associate aluminum exposure with Alzheimer’s disease? Despite the correlation between the neurotoxin and brain disease over the decades, a definite cause hadn’t been clinically presented.

Perhaps you’ve heard of the intriguing work of Professor Chris Exley who found that drinking certain mineral waters each day is the prime method of easily and safely removing aluminum from the body.

Is Aluminium Involved in Alzheimer’s Disease and Can Silicon-Rich Mineral Waters Protect Against Aluminium’s Involvement in the Disease?

When we last spoke to Dr. Exley, he had already tested silicon-rich waters like Volvic mineral water on human test subjects to discover that some of them had regained their cognitive abilities. Mineral water that contains high amounts of naturally occurring silica will draw aluminum safely out of the body.

At the time we spoke last year, he was raising funds to truly test the aluminum Alzheimer’s link.

This previous lack of clinical trial led to dismissal and derision from corporations and the part of the scientific community that perhaps received their funds from corporations. As you might imagine, corporations weren’t exactly chomping at the bit to fund Exley’s quest to prove the link.

We believe Exley’s newest work will provide hope and excitement to our readers. Be sure to listen to our interview after the press release.

Press Release: Familial Alzheimer’s and aluminum in brain tissue

By Professor Chris Exley via Sane Vax

There has been a strong link between human exposure to aluminium and the incidence of Alzheimer’s disease for half a century or more. However, without definite proof, there is still no consensus in the scientific community about the role of this known neurotoxin in this devastating brain disease.

The latest research from my group, published in the Journal of Trace Elements in Medicine and Biology, makes this link even more compelling. In my view, the findings are unequivocal in their confirmation of a role for aluminium in some if not all Alzheimer’s disease.

At the very least, these new results should encourage everyone and even those who have steadfastly maintained that aluminium has no role in the disease to think again.

I don’t believe that is the only factor, but I think it is an important one which should be considered very seriously.

When our new results are put into the context of what is already known about aluminium and Alzheimer’s disease their significance becomes overwhelming and compelling.

We already know that the aluminium content of brain tissue in late-onset or sporadic Alzheimer’s disease is significantly higher than is found in age-matched controls. So, individuals who develop Alzheimer’s disease in their late sixties and older also accumulate more aluminium in their brain tissue than individuals of the same age without the disease.

Even higher levels of aluminium have been found in the brains of individuals, diagnosed with an early-onset form of sporadic (usually late onset) Alzheimer’s disease, who have experienced an unusually high exposure to aluminium through the environment (e.g. Camelford) or through their workplace. This means that Alzheimer’s disease has a much earlier age of onset, for example, fifties or early sixties, in individuals who have been exposed to unusually high levels of aluminium in their everyday lives.

We now show that some of the highest levels of aluminium ever measured in human brain tissue are found in individuals who have died with a diagnosis of familial Alzheimer’s disease.

The levels of aluminium in brain tissue from individuals with familial Alzheimer’s disease are similar to those recorded in individuals who died of an aluminium-induced encephalopathy while undergoing renal dialysis.

25-Year-Old Student Discovers Way To Kill Superbugs WITHOUT Antibiotics — Science Freaks Out

lamBy Matt Agorist

“There is the danger that the ignorant man may easily underdose himself and, by exposing his microbes to non-lethal quantities of the drug (antibiotics), make them resistant,” Alexander Fleming, the man who discovered penicillin, cautioned at the acceptance of his Noble Prize in 1945.

Thanks to the medical-industrial complex and its tendency to prescribe antibiotics for just about every illness, including viruses, bacteria are getting smarter. Because we are giving non-lethal doses of antibiotics to bacteria on a massive scale, Fleming’s prediction in 1945, is now coming true.

The limited number of antibiotics in the world cannot keep up with the rapid rate of evolving bacteria. The world will soon be in a post-antibiotic era.

“Things as common as strep throat or a child’s scratched knee could once again kill,” warned the World Health Organization’s director-general Margaret Chan in 2012.

This ominous prediction is now swiftly coming in to fruition.

Currently, 700,000 people (230,000 newborns) die every year from superbugs that have evolved a resistance to antibiotics. According to a British study, that number is estimated to jump to 10,000,000 by the year 2050 and cost the world economy $100 trillion.

“If we fail to address this problem quickly and comprehensively, antimicrobial resistance will make providing high-quality universal healthcare coverage more difficult if not impossible,” UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon told The Guardian. “It will undermine sustainable food production. And it will put the sustainable development goals in jeopardy.”

The outlook for humanity is, indeed, bleak. However, thanks to a handful of research students from the University of Melbourne School, we may have hope after all.

Ph.D. student Shu Lam, the study’s lead researcher, believes they’ve found a way around antibiotic dependency in the battle against bacteria.

“We’ve developed a new class of antimicrobial agents, which are very unique. They come in the form of tiny star-shaped molecules that are made from short chains of proteins,” Lam told VICE. “We found that they are very effective at wiping out [bacterial] infections in mice and they are also relatively non-toxic to the body.”

These little miracle stars literally tear the bacteria apart by attaching to it and destroying the cell wall.

“These star polymers screw up the way bacteria survives,” Lam said. “Bacteria need to divide and grow but when our star is attached to the membrane it interferes with these processes. This puts a lot of stress on the bacteria and it initiates a process to kill itself from stress.”

“We still need to do a lot of studies and a lot of tests—for example, to see whether these polymers have any side effects on our bodies,” she explained to Vice. “We need a lot of detailed assessments like that, [but] they could hopefully be implemented in the near future.”

Lam’s study was published in the prestigious journal, Nature Microbiology, this month, and has taken the scientific community by storm. This small team of scientists may have just saved humanity from the brink of extinction.

“This research is significant because everyone is worried about superbugs. Suddenly, a lot of people have been telling me that either they themselves or their relatives have been infected, that they have been in intensive care because of a superbug, and that people they know have actually died,” Lam told the Telegraph.

“I really hope that the polymers we are trying to develop here could eventually be a solution,” she added.

Because pharmaceutical companies are more interested in developing drugs that must be taken for a person’s entire life, thereby guaranteeing them future income, only one antibiotic, teixobactin, has been developed in the last 30 years.
“Incentives must be found to recreate the prolific era of antibiotic discovery that took place from 1940 to 1960,” said Margaret Chan, the director of the World Health Organisation.

Lam’s team may have just created that incentive by changing the face of modern medicine.

Lam hopes her “innovative” research will encourage pharmaceutical companies to invest, according to theTelegraph. “I hope it will attract some interest, because what we have discovered is quite different from antibiotics,” she says.

As the Telegraph reports:

Professor Greg Qiao, her PhD supervisor, says that Lam’s project is one of the biggest scientific breakthroughs he had seen in his 20 years at Melbourne university. But he cautions that it is still in the early stages, and will need at least another five years to develop, unless millions of pounds of investment can be found to speed the process. Cross-discipline work is still required to further reduce toxicity and work out the best way to administer the treatment, whether by tablet or injection.

“The really good news about this is that, at the moment, if you have a superbug and you run out of antibiotics, there’s not much you can do. At least you can do something now,” said Qiao.

Mexico Cancels Infant Vaccines Nationwide After Two Die

Health officials in Mexico moved to suspend infant vaccines over the weekend following reports that routine inoculations killed two babies and left 29 others suffering terrible adverse effects.

On Friday, infants in the destitute village of Simojovel, Chiapas, began experiencing serious side effects resulting from the administration of tuberculosis, rotovirus and Hepatitis B vaccines.

Symptoms reportedly included fever, drowsiness, seizures and intense headaches.

Six of the 29 infants sickened are said to be in critical condition.

CNN Mexico reports the parents of the two children who died were so upset they did not grant the state permission to conduct autopsies. The two families buried their children Sunday in coffins provided by Simojovel authorities.

Mexican health authorities have not announced the findings of their investigation, but say they’ve been able to identify the suspected batch of vaccines and are also looking into whether contaminated needles may have played a role.

The package inserts of several Hepatitis vaccines mention “seizures” and “encephalitis” (brain inflammation) as potential side effects, however Mexican officials have not commented on the exact vaccine or manufacturer.

Officials initially claimed the 31 children “presented adverse reactions presumably associated with the application of these vaccines source

Amazing New Alzheimer’s treatment fully restores memory function

Of the mice that received the treatment, 75 percent got their memories back.

Australian researchers have come up with a non-invasive ultrasound technology that clears the brain of neurotoxic amyloid plaques – structures that are responsible for memory loss and a decline in cognitive function in Alzheimer’s patients.

If a person has Alzheimer’s disease, it’s usually the result of a build-up of two types of lesions – amyloid plaques, and neurofibrillary tangles. Amyloid plaques sit between the neurons and end up as dense clusters of beta-amyloid molecules, a sticky type of protein that clumps together and forms plaques.

Neurofibrillary tangles are found inside the neurons of the brain, and they’re caused by defective tau proteins that clump up into a thick, insoluble mass. This causes tiny filaments called microtubules to get all twisted, which disrupts the transportation of essential materials such as nutrients and organelles along them, just like when you twist up the vacuum cleaner tube.

As we don’t have any kind of vaccine or preventative measure for Alzheimer’s – a disease that affects 343,000 people in Australia, and 50 million worldwide – it’s been a race to figure out how best to treat it, starting with how to clear the build-up of defective beta-amyloid and tau proteins from a patient’s brain. Now a team from the Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) at the University of Queensland have come up with a pretty promising solution for removing the former.

Publishing in Science Translational Medicine, the team describes the technique as using a particular type of ultrasound called a focused therapeutic ultrasound, which non-invasively beams sound waves into the brain tissue. By oscillating super-fast, these sound waves are able to gently open up the blood-brain barrier, which is a layer that protects the brain against bacteria, and stimulate the brain’s microglial cells to activate. Microglila cells are basically waste-removal cells, so they’re able to clear out the toxic beta-amyloid clumps that are responsible for the worst symptoms of Alzheimer’s.

The team reports fully restoring the memories of 75 percent of the mice they tested it on, with zero damage to the surrounding brain tissue. They found that the treated mice displayed improved performance in three memory tasks – a maze, a test to get them to recognise new objects, and one to get them to remember the places they should avoid.

smart-mouse

“We’re extremely excited by this innovation of treating Alzheimer’s without using drug therapeutics,” one of the team, Jürgen Götz, said in a press release. “The word ‘breakthrough’ is often misused, but in this case I think this really does fundamentally change our understanding of how to treat this disease, and I foresee a great future for this approach.”

The team says they’re planning on starting trials with higher animal models, such as sheep, and hope to get their human trials underway in 2017.

You can hear an ABC radio interview with the team here.

Cancer does not need to be a death sentence

It is amazing how manipulated humans are in the western world.  We know through out own research, that if a Million people find wellness through holistic functional health strategies, up to 1 Billion people will be positively influenced by this change. The following testimonial sent by Dr Carlos Orozco support my believe that cancer does not need to be a death sentence.

‘Cancer is not a death sentence. It perhaps one of the greatest opportunities for people to change the way they have been living. Cancer can be viewed from many different angles. For example, for the pharmaceutical industry cancer is a business based on market share. For medical oncologist is an opportunity to make a name for themselves in the pharmaceutical world by entering patients into clinical trials and using a variety of chemotherapeutic agents based on the “latest research”. This research is sponsored and closely monitored by the pharmaceutical companies themselves. In this scenario, the companies write their conclusion first and then proceed to do the trial by designing Clinical Research Files (CRF’s) with a very narrow and thus highly selective patient inclusion and exclusion criteria. This methodology will aim to give a 5 year survival. For the cancer industry this length of time represents a cure for any patient that survives beyond 5 years. When the cancer returns it is labelled advanced cancer and in most cases is metastatic, meaning it is spread to other organs and tissues in the body. For the government is a way to generate employment to people by making them bureaucrats of the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), an organization that gives authority to use pharmaceutical products by providing a license to market pharmaceutical and nutritional products. The cancer industry or cancer market is one of the two pillars that guarantee the greatest returns to share holders, the other one being the cardiovascular business. So cancer is a very lucrative business. What does this has to do with  finding and treating the cause of cancer? Absolutely nothing!   What does this has to do with the prevention of cancer? Absolutely nothing!  The answer to conquer and prevent cancer is in nutrition. Very few people are aware of this. Nutrition needs to be at provided at the soul, spirit, emotional and physical level. This means we need to nourish our souls, mind, spirit and body with quality daily nutrition’. Dr Carlos Orozco BSc, MSc, ND, PhD, Adv Dip Nutr

I received this as part of a testimonial from Dr Carlos Orozco 28th January, 2011. He continued on to say and I am most grateful for his words.

Kristine Matheson has made a very significant contribution to preventing and conquering cancer by spreading the word through her book about the importance of nutrition in keeping a healthy body and in most cases restoring harmony into people’s lives by means of daily nutrition. To do so, she shares her experience in her book entitled From Cancer to Wellness the forgotten secrets: A 28 day step by step handbook for beating cancer, all based in daily nutrition for the body.

Cancer changed Kristine’s life for the best. She has become a well known author and a public speaker voicing out the importance that the role that the environment, stress, life style, lack of physical activity, repressed and suppressed emotions resulting in destructive thoughts and lack of physical nutrition play in the development of cancer.

In her book she tells us what we need to do to eat healthy and in the process become wise by making the right choices.

Kristine has gone beyond writing and publishing her book. She is now living on a mission with a vision. She has teamed up with others to spread her wings and touch many lives by sharing her wisdom and understanding about the importance of restoring harmony through nutrition. The recognition through the nomination for this award does not only includes her but all the people whose lives have changed thanks to what she shares in her conversations, presentations and of course her book.

So why send this out now.  I am most passionate about the use of the right holistic protocols being used to cure cancer.

Please share this with everyone.  We all need to be proactive so we can reduce unnecessary deaths.

Yours in good health and happiness

Kristine S Matheson

Should Children be Allowed to try Cannabis Before Chemo?

Alex Pietrowski,

Cannabis Flower - 1

As the movement to legalize cannabis continues to gain momentum, and as more research is conducted, we are discovering that this easy-to-grow plant is effective in treating many difficult illnesses, and surprisingly many types of deadly cancers. Cancer treatment in the U.S. has become its own industry, and even though chemotherapy admittedly over-prescribed and is known to have many devastating side effects, chemo and radiation are still the treatments most touted by doctors and the medical establishment.

Many people are seeking out medical marijuana as an alternative to conventional cancer treatment, and success stories are easy to find. Yet, underage cancer patients sometimes find that their legal rights when fighting cancer are unclear, and that when the state decides to intervene, their personal sovereignty may be compromised.

A 17 year-old girl’s plea to the Connecticut Supreme Court was recently rejected, and now, against her personal will and that of her mother and legal guardian, the state will resume forcing her to undergo chemotherapy as treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma. She had already been ordered by a lower court to undergo chemotherapy, however, due to the negative side-effects, she skipped several sessions. When she took her plea to the Supreme Court, they rejected her argument, saying that by skipping treatment she had proven herself to be too immature to decide for herself, and that she must resume chemotherapy. full article

The Bizarre Future of Genetic Engineering for the Masses

DAN

Over the past five years we’ve seen technologies like 3D printing go from making plastic cubes, to making plastic firearms. It’s a huge game changer that allows the individual to make tools that once required a factory full of workers to build. It has essentially lowered the barrier to entry for the manufacturing industry, and as this technology progresses, it could fundamentally change the world we live in.

But does 3D printing stand alone in this regard? Are there other emerging technologies that might democratize fields beyond manufacturing, such as medicine or energy production? Surely, we could benefit from devices that allow the everyman to diagnose their own ailments, or cheaply produce all their energy needs. But what about genetic engineering? What if everyone could access the tools required to modify DNA, and do so in the comfort of their own home?

Health benefits

Garlic is a strong antibiotic with a wide range of health benefits. Unlike chemical antibiotics that kill millions of friendly bacteria your body needs, its only goal is bacteria and microorganisms. Garlic also encourages and increases the level of healthy bacteria. It is a powerful antifungal agent and destroys any antigen, pathogen, and harmful disease-causing microorganisms.

Onion is garlic’s closest relative and it has a similar but milder action. Together they create a strong fighting duo.

Horseradish is a powerful herb, efficient for sinuses and lungs. It opens sinus channels and increases circulation, where common colds and flu usually begin, as most doctors would agree.

Ginger has powerful anti-inflammatory properties and it is a strong circulation stimulant.

Chili peppers are the most powerful circulation stimulators. They just send their antibiotic properties to fight the disease where it is mostly needed.

Turmeric is the most perfect spice, cleanses infections and reduces inflammation. Blocks the development of cancer, and prevents dementia. It is especially useful for those who struggle with joint pain.

Apple cider vinegar – there must be something very healthy in the use of apple cider vinegar as the father of medicine, Hippocrates, used vinegar around 400 BC because of its healthy properties. It is said that he used only two remedies: honey and apple cider vinegar.

Apple cider vinegar is made from fresh and ripe apples which are later fermented and go through rigorous process to give the final product. Apple cider vinegar contains pectin, a fiber that reduces bad cholesterol and regulates blood pressure.

Health experts agree that people need more calcium as they get old. Vinegar helps the extraction of calcium from foods it is mixed with, which helps in the process of maintaining bone strength. Potassium deficiency causes a variety of problems including hair loss, brittle nails and teeth, sinusitis, and runny nose.

Apple cider vinegar is rich in potassium. Studies have shown that potassium deficiency results in slow growth. All of these problems can be avoided if you use apple cider vinegar regularly. Potassium also removes toxic wastes from the body.

Beta-carotene prevents damage caused by free radicals, maintains skin firm and young. Apple cider vinegar is good for those who want to lose weight.

It breaks up fat which supports a natural weight loss process. Apple cider vinegar contains malic acid, efficient in the fight against fungal and bacterial infections. This acid dissolves uric acid deposits that form around the joints, and thus alleviates joint pain. Dissolved uric acid is later eliminated from the body.

It is believed that apple cider vinegar is useful in treating conditions like constipation, headaches, arthritis, weak bones, indigestion, high cholesterol, diarrhea, eczema, sore eyes, chronic fatigue, mild food poisoning, hair loss, high blood pressure, obesity, and many other health problems.

The master tonic is the best combination to fight each of these conditions. Protect your health using natural antibiotics!

What is Aloe Vera?

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera or Aloe Vera , often called miraculous plant, natural healers, life plant. It has many names which have survived for about 4,000 years, the medicinal herb that serves humanity. Although there are more than 200 species of aloe, only four species have medicinal properties .

Aloe Barbadensis Miller (also known as Aloe Linne) is the most effective. He alone has the right to use aloe vera or aloe vera true.

Aloe vera is a fleshy plant that resembles a cactus, but is in fact a member of the lily family, besigiminiuojantis with onions, garlic and asparagus. Mature plant leaves inside and outside of the jelly juice mixture can be collected, preserved and bottled. The resultant product is the most similar to the natural plant juice.

Internal use of Aloe Vera Gel drink to supplement effect. Aloe vera gel can be mixed with other constituent elements, and is used as a cream or lotion, nourishing the skin and improves its quality.

How does ALOE VERA?

Nutritional aloe Components that possess antibacterial properties and inhibit inflammation, promotes healing and cell growth. However, they are useful for people with problems, many aloe vera products using feel better because of improved well-being, they pasijutoramesni less irritated.

This may be due to the effects of aloe’s immune system, which, when used, to better balance out, and adjusts, and thus effectively protects the body from foreign objects.

Stabilized Aloe Vera gel has the following properties:

* Due to the weight of the saponin acts as a natural cleanser.

* One of the constituents of lignin, the substance helps to penetrate deep into the tissue.

* Anesthesia cloth, on which are masked, reduces pain deep beneath the skin’s surface, as well as joint and muscle pain.

* A measure gets concentrated using antibacterial and antifungal effects.

* Inhibits inflammation. Acts as a steroid, but does not side effects.

* Helps the skin, itching, and burning.

* Naturally moisturize, carries moisture to all layers of the skin.

* Stimulates cell renewal.

* Proteolytic enzymes break down dead tissue cells and cleans the wounds (external).

* Extends the skin capillaries, and promotes blood circulation.

* Strengthens the skin and body, making provision of vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, enzymes and amino acids.

The above results can be achieved using one or more drugs, but they are usually expensive and have many side effects. Aloe Vera has many benefits almost without causing side effects …

Aloe vera gel contains at least 75 known nutrients, which can be divided into the following groups:

Vitamins – Aloe Vera is rich in vitamins, but the most important of which are antioxidant vitamins: C, E and beta-carotene (vitamin A). Aloe is one of the few plants in the world, containing vitamin B12.

Minerals – magnesium, manganese, zinc, copper, chromium, calcium, sodium, potassium and iron.

Amino acids – the human body requires 22 amino acids – protein building materials. Of the 22 amino acids and Aloe Vera gel is 20. Even more important is the fact that Aloe Vera contains all 8 Essential Amino acids, which the body can not produce itself and therefore it must be consumed as food.

Sugars – a number of important polysaccharides that enhance the immune system.

Enzymes – lipases and proteases, degrading food and assist in digestion, as well as askarboksipepitdazė involved in inflammatory processes.

Plant sterols – the three main types act as a strong priešuždeginimės material.

Saponins – soapy substances that cause a strong antimicrobial effect against bacteria, viruses, fungi and yeast (such as candida or thrush).

Lignin – woody substance bestows on Aloe Vera ability to penetrate deep into the skin.

Anthraquinone – the most important of them is the aloin and Emodin, but all together they are strong painkillers tool recognized as having antibacterial, antiviral properties. In their pure form, they are very powerful laxatives.

Salicylic acid – aspirin-like compound having anti-inflammatory properties and externally penetrating through the dead tissue.

K uri part of the aloe vera?

There is no evidence that the whole aloe leaf, which is usually filtered and concentrated to a much more effective than just the inside of the gel. In fact, a sheet cake can be less effective, because the filter can remove the elements, which we may still be unknown. But the most important is the quality of aloe vera and its content product offering.

Why Aloe Vera is effective?

Aloe is a cocktail, rich nourishing elements, with the overall effect and the balance together have an effect on what can be expected from the individual constituent components.

This is because aloe vera contains ingredients that act as a team where each element reinforces the other item effects, and this process is called synergy.

Aloe also has adaptogenic properties, that is, enhances the body’s non-specific resistance to the negative effects, such as infection or stress.

Where aloe works?

Due to its nourishing and anti-oxidation properties of Aloe Vera, in particular, protects epithelial tissue, promote healing of damaged (epithelium – a layer of cells covering the body or cavity that connects with it). Aloe vera contains anti-oxidants to combat harmful free radicals, unstable compounds due to the process of metabolism and is found in environmental pollutants. It is believed that free radicals cause various diseases, including certain types of cancer, and accelerates the aging process. The largest is the skin epithelium, as well as the gastrointestinal tract, bronchial and genital walls. Unsurprisingly, aloe works equally well for both skin and gut inflammation or asthma.

How Aloe Vera works?

Aloe works synergistically. It contains ingredients that act as a team where each element reinforces the other item effects.Natural anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects of aloe vera, along with its nourishing elements, stimulates the growth of cells and their renewal. Aloe is useful not only for those who have health problems. Aloe – good for everyone. Most of using aloe as a food supplement, feel better. This is due to the positive effects of aloe’s immune system. Aloe vera in a long chain of sugar compound affects the immune system and helps the body to regulate its activities.

Findings

Aloe is not a panacea for all diseases, and this plant is not a miracle. It just works in two areas already mentioned – the epithelial tissue and the immune system. This is based on real life evidence, as thousands of people in different countries welcomed the aloe vera in addressing many skin problems (eczema, psoriasis, ulcers, burns, acne, bites), intestinal disorders (colitis, diverticulitis, irritable bowel syndrome), and other ailments related to the immune disorders (arthritis, asthma, povirusinis fatigue syndrome, lupus).

Reverse Premature Aging with this Tropical Oil

If you thought that the perks of using organic, extra virgin coconut oil could not get any better, a new study from the University of Copenhagen may pleasantly surprise you. A Danish research team has found that consuming this amazing oil could have significant anti-aging effects.

Coconut oil

For their experiment, researchers specifically focused on mice with a “defective DNA repair system.” These mice were used in order to simulate the effects of Cockayne syndrome (CS), a rare genetic condition which causes cells to age prematurely. Children afflicted with this syndrome often do not live past the age of 12, and sadly, there is no cure.

To test the effects of different diets on mice with defective DNA repair, the mice were assigned to one of four diets: a standard diet, one high in fat, a standard diet plus resveratrol and a calorie-restriction diet. Normal mice were used as a control group, and the experiment went on for eight months.

Normal mice were used as a control group, and the experiment went on for eight months.

After the eight months, researchers found that the mice with defective repair systems on the high fat diet showed increased ketone production. Ketones serve as a secondary fuel to the body when there is no glucose available. The researchers also observed that the defective mice on the high fat diet weighed the same as normal mice on the standard diet. These results suggest that the high fat diet both boosted metabolism and increased brain function.

According to Morten Scheibye-Knudsen, one of the researchers, “it [CS] eats into the resources and causes the cell to age very quickly. We therefore hope that a diet with a high content of coconut oil or similar fats will have a beneficial effect, because the brain cells are given extra fuel and thus the strength to repair the damage.”

Coconut oil, as well as palm kernel oil, contain medium-chain fatty acids (MCTs), which have been shown previously to be a wonderful source of energy. They also increase metabolism, aid the liver in dumping fat cells, keep you feeling satiated and support the cardiovascular and immune systems – among many other benefits. The potential of this oil to aid children with this dreaded disorder is exciting.

The study’s leader, Vilhelm Bohr, states, “the study is good news for children with Cockayne syndrome, because we do not currently have an effective treatment. Our study suggests that a high-fat diet can postpone aging processes. A diet high in fat also seems to postpone the aging of the brain. The findings therefore potentially imply that patients with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease in the long term may benefit from the new knowledge.”

While more research is performed as far as coconut oil’s therapeutic potential for CS, Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease, what is already known is more than reason enough to seriously consider switching all of the oils you cook with, and drizzle over foods with, to coconut oil. Just be sure to always choose organic and extra-virgin, as many low-quality imposters exist.

You may just find yourself experiencing more energy, feeling revitalized and enjoying top levels of wellness overall.

Grandpa Cures His Cancer with Cannabis Oil

Christina Sarich, Natural Society A 63-year-old grandpa and retired builder from Hastings, East Sussex, England, says he cured himself of liver cancer by taking home-made cannabis oil. He received a liver transplant when he was diagnosed in 2009, but the disease returned in 2012, attacking the new organ he had undergone surgery to receive. His search for an alternative cure was led by desperation, but he is cancer-free today from his cannabis solution. Read more to find out how.

Mike Cutler says that the cancerous cells in his liver started to disappear once he began taking a home-brew of cannabis oil. In his research, he found a YouTube video that described the use of cannabis oil as a solution.

Cutler was in excruciating pain, and after taking cannabis oil for just three days, the pain went away completely.

In May of this year, the grandfather of nine went to get a biopsy at the Royal Free Hospital in London to make sure that his cancer was once again in remission. Doctors confirmed that all the cancerous cells that had been invading his liver were completely gone!

A spokeswoman for the Royal Free Hospital confirmed that Cutler did not receive any other cancer treatment aside form his transplant in 2009.

The cancer-free grandpa said:

“. . .finding out I could die was terrible. All I had in those dark days was my laptop, and that’s when I began searching for something else that could help me – I couldn’t accept I was going to die.”

How exactly did Cutler do it?

marijuana_cannabis_oil-e1415607509492

He purchased his cannabis through a dealer and went on to cultivate his own tablets from the oil. Thereafter, he would take one capsule a day. He hoped for a treatment but wasn’t convinced when he started out. He was already surprised when his pain dissipated after three days, but when he found out he was totally treated from his liver cancer he said he, “was just completely shocked.”

Since his cancer went into remission, he maintains his own preventative regimen and grows his own cannabis plants.

He also spoke recently about the use of cannabis as a medicine together with Professor David Nutt and MP Caroline Lucas in Brighton, England, and he campaigns for laws to be passed so that more people have access to this wondrous plant.

It is long overdue for scientists and legislators to realize the full healing powers of cannabis as a medical drug. Dr Kat Arney, Cancer Research UK’s science communications manager, said:

“This could potentially lead to more effective treatments for cancer in the future,  but there’s still no good data from clinical trials to show that cannabis or cannabinoids can safely and effectively treat cancer in patients at the moment.”

Govt. Researchers: Flu Shots Not Effective in Elderly, After All

(Above image: a nurse interests a passerby in flu shot information. Courtesy: NCIRD/OD/HCSO Flu vaccination communications team)

An important and definitive “mainstream” government study done nearly a decade ago got little attention because the science came down on the wrong side. It found that after decades and billions of dollars spent promoting flu shots for the elderly, the mass vaccination program did not result in saving lives. In fact, the death rate among the elderly increased substantially.

The authors of the study admitted a bias going into the study. Here was the history as described to me: Public health experts long assumed flu shots were effective in the elderly. But, paradoxically, all the studies done failed to demonstrate a benefit. Instead of considering that they, the experts, could be wrong–instead of believing the scientific data–the public health experts assumed the studies were wrong. After all, flu shots have to work, full article

Garlic Soup – 100x Stronger Than The Best Antibiotics On The Market

by Natural Cures

This soup, made from 50 garlic cloves, 1 red onion, and some thyme, is capable of fighting off many flu viruses, colds, and even the Norovirus.

The pharmaceutical and health care industries have massively over-prescribed antibiotics, which has lessened their effectiveness and even created antibiotic resistant diseases. With that being said, more and more people are rapidly turning back to nature to find remedies for their health problems. The winter Norovirus, also know as the the winter vomiting bug, got a lot of attention in early 2014. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, fever, stomach cramps, and headaches.

The interesting thing about garlic, is that new and mutated viruses/infections, which cannot be treated with traditional antibiotics, are still effected by the garlic. The reason behind garlic’s amazing antibiotic properties is a chemical called allicin, found within the cloves. A study preformed by Washington University has shown that garlic is 100 times more effective than 2 most popular antibiotics on the market.

Ingredients

  • 50 cloves of organic garlic (5 garlic bulbs) cleaned and peeled
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 large bulbs of red onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cut thyme
  • 6 cups (250ml) of chicken broth
  • fresh or dried herbs for taste (parsley, bay leaves, whatever you prefer!)
  • 3 cups of stale bread, cubed or crushed
  • 1 cup of sour cream

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). While the oven warms up, chop off the heads of the garlic bulbs, spread the cloves out on some foil, drizzle in olive oil, and wrap them in the foil. Place the foil wrapped garlic in a pan, and place them in the oven to cook for about 90 minutes. Give them some time to cool once they’re done. Next, mix 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a soup pot, over medium heat. Place the diced red onion in the mixture, cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.

Now that the garlic has cooled down, grind it, and mix it together with the stewed red onion. Mix well, add the fresh thyme and other herbs. Lower the temperature and mix in the bread crumbs/cubes. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the bread softens. Remove the fresh herbs from the mixture and place in a blender or food processor until it becomes a semi-creamy mixture. Place the soup back into the pot, add in the sour cream, and feel free to add salt or pepper according to your taste preferences! Enjoy!

7 Basic Things You Won’t Believe You’re All Doing Wrong

i found this article very enlightening.

If you’re like us, you might sometimes have a problem with complex tasks, like trying to drive an ambulance and send a text message at the same time. But hey, at least most of us have figured out the simplest things that get us through the day, right?

Except, you know, some of the simple things we’ve done every day of our lives, like …

#7. Pooping

What could be simpler than taking a good crap? Even babies are good at it. You might be surprised, then, to find out that even those of us who can burp without throwing up get this wrong every single day.

The one who just threw up on the other one’s shoulder is better at pooping.

Chances are the pooping facility nearest you is a sitting toilet, a relatively recent invention that flushed its way into mankind’s heart with the advent of indoor plumbing in the 19th century. Indoor plumbing has turned out pretty well for the most part, but the pooping style that came with it definitely has not. Pooping on a modern sitting toilet is a big part of where hemorrhoids come from, and it can also cause diverticular disease, an age-related condition that pretty much only occurs in parts of the world where sitting toilets are used, and which can lead to a range of pleasantries up to and including colonic obstruction. And things aren’t getting better: The last few decades have seen a rise in popularity of “comfort height” toilets that sit two to four inches higher off the ground than older models and that make our pooping predicament even worse.

Getty
Future toilets will exist just to kill us.

So how the hell are we meant to do it?

Luckily, there’s a relatively simple way to end this poop dilemma. A 2003 study observed 28 people pooping in three positions: sitting on a high toilet, sitting on a lower one and squatting like they were catchers at a baseball game (catcher’s mitt optional, but encouraged). After initially being mistaken for a German porn company, the researchers found that pooping took about a minute less when done squatting and that participants rated the experience as “easier” (God, we hope they were getting paid).

In fact, toilets that require you to squat that way have been the standard for most of human history and are still widely used in the non-Western world.

Getty
And urban centers of the Western world.

According to proctologists, “We were not meant to sit on toilets, we were meant to squat in the field.” When you’re in a sitting or standing position, you’re forming an angle between the where the poop is and where the poop’s gotta come out. There’s even a muscle that’s purpose is to tighten things up when we’re sitting or standing to prevent accidents. Squatting straightens out this angle and removes the chokehold.

Getty
For no reason, here’s an icing pipe.

If the thought of squatting awkwardly on top of your toilet seat isn’t for you, you can produce a similar poop-enhancing angle by resting your feet on a footstool (or anything handy) and leaning the top half of your body forward.

#6. Bathing

From a young age, we’re taught that the daily use of a hot shower, copious amounts of soap and a scratchy washcloth are necessary to rid ourselves of dangerous microorganisms and the putrid smell of human skin. And if you aren’t squeaky-clean, you can forget about dating, career advancement and the promise of a future that doesn’t involve dying alone in a den of your own filth.

Getty
That’s what college is for.

As it turns out, showering or bathing daily, while it may make us more socially acceptable, wreaks havoc on something hilariously called the horny layer. Hot water, soap and abrasive surfaces strip off the horny layer, exposing living cells to the elements. And although we’ve just used the words “strip,” “exposing” and “horny” in the same sentence, we assure you that this is not the making of a sexy situation. On the contrary, damaging this protective layer of skin makes us more susceptible to disease.

Via Wikimedia Commons
Sexy disease.

Before recent modern conveniences, people bathed less often, and frequently in the same water. Even nowadays, showering doesn’t kill bacteria or other microorganisms, though it does move them around. A colony of bacteria living on your shower wall might move to your leg; a colony from your leg might move to your head; a colony from your groin might even take up residence on your hands. For this reason, surgeons in many hospitals are not allowed to shower right before operating.

Getty
Not even you, Doctor McPenishands!

Studies have shown that there are no measurable differences in the number of microorganism colonies a person is host to regardless of how frequently that person showers. Of course, using antibacterial soaps can kill microorganisms, though in an effort not to create too many super bacteria, medical experts generally recommend not using these soaps daily.

Getty
“Say what you like, but you have to admit my bones are super shiny!”

So how the hell are we meant to do it?

The most important thing to do to keep the skin healthy is to preserve the horny layer. There’s no magic number of showers each week, though it’s generally agreed that the number would fall somewhat shy of seven. Skipping showers, or, if you’d like a fancy French term, celebrating sans douche days, gives your skin time to repair some of the damage that the last shower caused.

Getty
Any more than a day and there’s no amount of French that’ll get rid of Eau de Sewer.

When you shower, use warm or cool water and a mild soap (if at all), and rehydrate the horny layer by rubbing on some moisturizer afterward. Better yet, convince an attractive friend to help with this. Once you’ve cleaned up, you’ll want to make sure you air dry. Ignore protesting roommates or family members and remind them, as you’re drip-drying at the breakfast table, that they should be grateful you’re showering only a couple of times a week.

#5. Breathing

Congratulations: Chances are that if you’re reading this, and you’re not a ghost, you’ve managed to figure out breathing. On the other hand, chances are you’re also doing it wrong.

iStockphoto
You’re also suddenly aware that you’re breathing now.

Take a deep breath right now. We’ll wait. If you’re anything like most people, you raised your shoulders a little and puffed out your chest like a pigeon in heat. You probably don’t see anything wrong with using your chest to breathe, since after all, that’s where your lungs are. What the hell else are you going to use? Your thighs? Well, smartass, it turns out that the muscle you’re supposed to use to breathe, your diaphragm, is under your lungs and closer to your belly.

Via Wikimedia Commons
Shown here as the white mass on the bottom of this X-ray of Tom Cruise (may not actually be Tom Cruise).

When upright, most people are habitual chest breathers: We use a shallow form of respiration that makes use of only the top part of the lungs. In reality, most of the blood vessels that take up oxygen are in the bottom, neglected half. Since so much lung power is going to waste, we get less oxygen, and as a result, we’re all breathing more rapidly than nature intended us to.

Chest breathing also tends to upset the blood’s oxygen/carbon dioxide balance and can lead to headaches, fatigue, anxiety and even panic attacks. According to one expert, you’re also potentially suffering from sweaty palms, difficulty relaxing, heightened pain perception and general fatigue.

Photos.com
Or as most people call it — a “first date.”

So how the hell are we meant to do it?

It turns out that breathing is one area in which babies are much smarter than you. Babies use a deeper type of respiration called abdominal breathing, which strengthens and makes full use of their diaphragms. It’s only as we grow older that we revert to the more inefficient style. Luckily, you can train your body to go back to breathing properly, and over time, you can even breathe abdominally in your sleep.

Photos.com
Not to be confused with snoring, which is just breathing abominably.

To practice it, try to “inflate” your stomach as you breathe in, while keeping your chest relatively still. Then contract your abdominal muscles on the exhale. Not only will this give you more oxygen per breath, it will eventually strengthen the diaphragm. A stronger diaphragm means you get more oxygen with each breath, so your brain won’t need to divert any away from your muscles, meaning that you get tired less easily.

Photos.com
Try this now at work, and observe as people kindly give you more breathing space!

A study on cardiac patients showed that this type of breathing leads to improved exercise performance and decreased shortness of breath, and it’s also been linked to lower blood pressure. This is the reason that so many coaches recommend breathing practice as a shortcut to sports-based superpowers.

Getty
“I’ll have you know this exercise is recommended by my doctor.”

#4. Sleeping

OK, so maybe you can’t handle pooping, breathing or much else that you’d think would come naturally. But surely just lying in bed every night is OK, right? So why the hell do you keep waking up at 3 a.m.? You lie there, wondering what the hell is wrong with you. Will I oversleep? you wonder. How will I find the time to sit down and poop in the morning?

Getty
“I have to remember to breathe, too. I can’t deal with all this.”

If this happens to you often, you’re not alone. Chances are, if you mention waking up like this to your doctor, it’ll be diagnosed as a “sleep disorder,” and you’ll be given one of the tens of millions of prescriptions for sleeping pills handed out to Americans each year. You’ll pop some Ambien, only to awaken a few hours later beating up a police officer. What on earth went wrong?

Getty
To be fair, you couldn’t have known that wasn’t a real truncheon.

So how the hell are we meant to do it?

In this case, you’re already doing it right. It’s your reaction that’s wrong.

The idea that an uninterrupted eight hours is the only sleep pattern natural to mankind is surprisingly recent. Before someone who wasn’t Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, people in areas with more than eight hours of darkness usually slept in segments: three to five hours of sleep, an hour of wakefulness and then another three to five hour nap. The hour or so of awake time was used for quiet reflection, sex, smoking and pretty much everything except staring at the wall terrified of insomnia. In fact, this small window of consciousness was renowned as the best time for boning, as the tranquility between the first and second sleep was known as being uniquely suited to getting up to mischief with the person lying bored beside you.

Getty
This isn’t compulsory.

In recent times, artificial light has pushed our normal bedtime back later and later, and this segmented sleep has been compressed into a single eight hours. Still, our brains are naturally wired for pre-light-bulb days. In a monthlong experiment, healthy subjects were given a long artificial “night” lasting 14 hours. They quickly reverted to the segmented pattern, waking up for an hour or two of “peaceful wakefulness” between two three to five hour stretches.

Getty
By the end of the experiment, all the women were pregnant.

So why do we still wake up even when we’ve been up until midnight watching Deadliest Warrior marathons? Well, some people tend to revert to this natural sleep cycle despite all the artificial light, especially during dark winter months. Fortunately, having this sort of technology-resistant superbrain doesn’t necessarily spell disaster. According to experts, if you stay calm and allow yourself to fall back to sleep naturally rather than lying there wondering why you’re awake, you usually won’t see any negative effects the next day.

#3. Having Babies

Obviously, giving birth to a smaller human might take a lot more effort than breathing. But when you realize that even the idiot deer that tried to jump in front of your car last month has probably managed to produce young, you would hope that we smart modern humans are getting it really right. Not so. Today, the majority of women in America are still directed to give birth in the “lithotomy” position, an odd pose that consists of lying flat on your back with your feet and legs raised, sometimes in stirrups.

Getty
Stirrups? This woman has clearly just given birth to this horse.

In fact, short of actually duct-taping your legs together, this is pretty much the worst position imaginable to give birth in. And that’s not the opinion of a bunch of hippies who think that childbirth should involve dolphins and mood lighting: The World Health Organization has called use of the lithotomy position “clearly harmful,” and recommended that it be eliminated.

Getty
Or monetized for the S&M industry.

And when you think about it, it’s not hard to see their point: With the woman on her back, the baby is actually fighting gravity on its way into the world, and rest assured, that baby is in no hurry whatsoever to escape a world in which breathing and eating are already taken care of. The result: a more difficult labor and an increased rate of severe vaginal tearing.

Getty
The whole right side of this picture looks like the end of 300.

And as if that image was not utterly horrifying enough, directed pushing (those people who stand around the mother yelling “Push!”) has been shown to increase perineal damage and childbirth pain while also decreasing the amount of oxygen that gets to the fetus.

So how the hell are we meant to do it?

Basically, the head-down, legs-in-the-air position has become standard in modern medicine mainly because it gives doctors direct and unrestricted access to your hoo-hoo. The thing is, having babies is a lot like making babies — there’s no one position that suits every situation. The World Health Organization recommends giving women the opportunity to move around during labor and change their position according to what feels right.

iStockphoto
The “champagne cork” position.

But science can tell us that non-lying-down positions reduce tearing and that a squatting labor position usually opens up the pelvis by 10 percent. And as anyone who has ever got their head stuck in a drainpipe knows, a 10 percent increase in space can sometimes mean a lot. Basically, squatting should be given some sort of medal at this point.

#2. Tooth Brushing

Bad breath is a great way to lose new friends. Nobody wants to talk to or sit next to someone whose breath is outlawed by the terms of the Geneva Conventions. So thank goodness we learned to brush our teeth so much.

Well, actually, our obsessive-compulsive tooth-brushing practices lead to deteriorating oral health, including increased numbers of cavities and eventual tooth loss. Traditional wisdom, as dictated to us from a young age by school-visiting dentists with happy, anthropomorphic teeth printed on their shirts, is that we should brush twice a day, after meals. That makes sense, because you’re getting rid of all those hamburger particles wedged between your teeth before they can start rotting and convert your breath into a chemical weapon.

Getty
“Oh, stop being dramatic, Carl. Carl?”

But surprise — you’re wrong. British dentists are now recommending that people, especially small people between the ages of five and 10, not brush their teeth after every meal. The reason is that the acidity in food and beverages causes tooth enamel to soften, and brushing right after eating an acidic meal strips enamel from the teeth, leaving them vulnerable to cavities. Leaving a little food behind actually doesn’t cause as much damage as your toothbrush does as it scrubs the natural protective layer off the teeth. Up yours, dentists.

Getty

So how the hell are we meant to do it?

Studies show that flossing is much more important than brushing. Dental floss actually removes the bacteria that clump together between your teeth, without scrubbing and stripping layers off them.

But before you run to your dentist and smugly assert that Cracked told you that brushing is bad for you, brushing twice a day is generally still believed to be the best practice. But you should do it away from mealtimes to give your teeth time to recover from acid wear — ideally, right before you eat or drink anything. And although you might instinctively prefer a hard toothbrush to really grind off those asshole bacteria, studies suggest you should use a soft brush and focus on your gums more than your actual teeth. So it’s really more of a tooth massage.

Getty
And no massage is complete without a happy-ending mouthwash.

#1. Sitting

We’ve mentioned before that long periods of sitting increase your risk of diabetes, heart disease and even frickin’ cancer, no matter how much you work out when you’re not sitting. We also mentioned that for some bizarre reason, sitting down for long periods of time means that you’ll probably die earlier. What we didn’t mention is that this is all because of the invention of chairs.

Via Wikimedia Commons
Thanks, Egypt.

The straight-backed chairs we’re familiar with today have been around for thousands of years, but until recently, they were almost exclusively for really important people. We’ve still got words like “chairman” and “university chair” that show the connection between a thronelike chair and leadership. As recently as the 19th century, the default mode for the average person was a backless stool or a bench, or just plain old kneeling.

Getty
Or the stocks.

And you guessed it — our bodies aren’t designed for the right-angled back support presented by the average chair. When we’re standing up, or even sitting on something backless, our abdominal muscles are active, helping our spines support our weight. When you’re sitting on a chair, these muscles relax, and suddenly your spine alone has to take the entire weight of your upper torso, like a twig holding up a bowling ball. The extra stress puts pressure on your spinal disks and can eventually lead to chronic back pain, something that’s experienced by 80 percent of Americans.

Getty

So how the hell are we meant to do it?

Some experts on sitting recommend “active sitting” (which sounds about as relaxing as sleepercising) using an exercise ball, kneeling stool or something else without a high back. There are also standing desks. But if you don’t want to look like a cubicle worker whose office manager reads too many furniture design magazines, there’s another option: A study used an MRI to measure the spinal disk movement of three groups of people: one sitting, one slouching and one lying back at a 135-degree angle with their feet on the floor. The last group showed the least disk movement. By the way, this reclining position was common during the Roman Empire, including in Jesus’ time. So try it at work, and tell your boss you’re avoiding future sick days and deepening your religious experience.

“I bet Jesus would take off with the company credit card too!”

How Underground Therapists and Scientists Keep Psychedelic Medicine Alive Despite the Gov’t Ban

Tom Shroder,AlterNet
It could take decades before these drugs are legal, and the consequences are deadly.

The following is an article written by Tom Shroder based on his new book

Acid Test: LSD, Ecstasy, and the Power to Heal:

In the past decade, after thirty years in the deep freeze, research into the medicinal use of psychedelic drugs, ranging from psilocybin to Ketamine, and from MDMA to LSD, has begun to accelerate. FDA-approved pilot studies and clinical trials using the drugs under controlled conditions and in combination with talk therapy have shown they could be used safely, delivering promising results in a wide range of tough-to-treat maladies, including opiate and tobacco addiction, alcoholism, autism, anxiety, depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

These developments are not surprising to some who remember the first wave of research and even widespread clinical use of psychedelics in the quarter century after the accidental discovery LSD in 1943. A global review of psychedelic studies and clinical results in 1963 concluded:  “Some spectacular, and almost unbelievable, results have been achieved by using one dose [of the drugs].”

In 1960, a psychiatrist named Sydney Cohen surveyed the results of 44 physicians who had administered 25,000 doses of LSD or mescaline to 5,000 subjects under widely varying conditions. Cohen found “no instance of serious or prolonged physical side effects” in either those 25,000 sessions or in the wider literature on psychedelic drug studies. Adverse psychological reactions, he found, were rare, and mostly related to pre-existing mental illnesses.

Human hand with medicine pill. Horizontal.

But the powerful drug that was proving surprisingly safe to use in the clinic was creating a panic when used on the streets. The mushrooming popular abuse of psychedelics in the late 1960s, particularly by unscreened young people taking it in uncontrolled environments, struck such a sensitive cultural and political nerve that it left the drugs, and the scientists who worked with them, severely stigmatized for more than a generation.

“It was if  psychedelic drugs had become undiscovered,” one researcher recalled.

Ironically, the criminalization of the possession of psychedelic drugs in 1970 and the attendant passion of the authorities’ anti-drug crusade did little to slow the spread of recreational abuse, but effectively shut all research into possible beneficial uses down cold.

In the three decades that followed, an underground network of therapists continued to use the now illegal compounds in treatment of psychological maladies. In the late 1970s, with the rediscovery of the psychoactive effects of the synthetic psychedelic 3,4-methylenedioxy-N-methylamphetamine, or MDMA, these underground therapists found a compound many felt was even more useful in combination with therapy than the classic psychedelics – avoiding the unpredictable effects and anxiety-provoking visions that sometimes arose, as well as creating an almost instant bond with the therapist. MDMA also had the advantage of not yet being illegal.

As the government prepared to rectify that in 1985, a coalition of credentialed doctors and scientist allied with those in the psychedelic underground to take the attempt to rehabilitate the drugs and bring back the hope of the 50s and 60s that they could become a powerful tool in psychotherapy. They sued the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to prevent them from placing MDMA on Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act, the most restrictive category referred for highly dangerous drugs with no medical benefit.

After months of hearings and volumes of testimony, the presiding judge ruled dramatically in the plaintiffs’ favor – MDMA he declared, was neither particularly dangerous when used in a clinical setting nor without medical value.

The DEA simply ignored the ruling, which was not legally binding, and MDMA therapy went back underground. But some of those behind the challenge refused to surrender. If they couldn’t prove their case in court, they would do it in the lab. It took better than a decade and a slowly changing culture, but as the 20th Century came to a close, the Food and Drug Administration began to once again approve clinical trials giving psychedelics to humans to test everything from whether they could reliably produce a profound spiritual experience to help people stop smoking.

One of the most noteworthy and advanced efforts has been using MDMA-assisted psychotherapy to treat chronic, treatment-resistant PTSD. A completed and published trial in South Carolina, and additional ongoing trials there and in a half dozen other places, are showing very promising results. In the completed study of 24 subjects, primarily female victims of rape and sexual abuse, all but three subjects experienced lasting remission of their symptoms after just a handful of sessions in which the drug appeared to allow them to examine the roots of their trauma without fear and generate insights that released them from the disorder’s vicious cycle of avoidance, rage and hypervigilance.

Even if all goes smoothly, the path to the point where MDMA becomes a tool available to all those in need is long, and very expensive. It could take more than a decade, and tens of millions of dollars to generate the final phase studies involving scores of therapists and hundreds of patients that must precede approval of a drug for prescription use.  At a time when half a million veterans have returned from wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with PTSD, contributing tragically to the average of 22 veterans each day who commit suicide, that seems like a long time to wait.

The cost to the American taxpayer of giving these vets the medical care they’ve earned will be in the range of a trillion dollars over the next 30 or 40 years. If PTSD could be reliably cured with a short-term treatment using an inexpensive drug like MDMA, those costs could be slashed dramatically. And yet, though the Department of Defense is spending lavishly on speculative development all sorts of untested therapies – including planting microchips in veterans’ brains – it has yet to budget a dime for MDMA research, in part, clearly, because the cultural wars of 1970 continue to hold the image of psychedelics hostage.

Could this device help people in California.THIS IMPRESSIVE TOWER CREATES WATER FROM THE AIR!

warkawater1

There are a flurry of amazing inventions coming into the fold lately, hoverbikes being among one of them.. but today I want to tell you about this really cool device that is making an impact in etheopia, and hopefully will soon make its way overseas to North America and the rest of the world.

The device is called Warka Water – and it has the capacity to generate up to 25 Gallons of water PER DAY simply by sitting in the hot heat of the desert. Now THAT is impressive, especially considering the whole scare of an impending drought that is currently upon us.

warkawater4

The magic of Warka Water however is not just that it generates the water, but HOW it generates the water. This device ultimately harnesses a singularity to pull water from the air through condensation, creating clean and drinkable water for those all around.

I’m not even kidding. It uses a singularity. In order to describe this, let me show you a quick video about what i’m talking about.

In the future, we can imagine making use of much more powerful singularities to do all kinds of things, such as levitation or even teleportation – but in the mean-time, this is a perfect example of what i’m talking about.

warkawater2Essentially, the warka-water device creates a means for the water-vapor in the air to move through a transition point (a singularity) and change density. The vapor does a 90 degree turn and becomes more dense, solidifying itself into a more physically tangible drop of water.

This happens around the device at a constant rate, so hundreds of thousands of drops of water are transmuted from the air and are then pulled down by gravity and collected in a basin at the bottom, ready for consumption or use in whatever way you desire.

warkawater3

The singularity is essentially created at the point of transition between vapor and water – where when all of the ingredients are just right, water simply manifests as if by magic. Of course, with the scientific data we know exactly where its coming from, but that’s just part of the magic! The fact that we can materialize water from the ether is one of the first steps of creating using the universe around us.

It is an example and a simple representation of what we will be able to do in the future by generating energy from the ether as well.

It’s just a matter of time ;)

UK medical police state, truth about CDC scientific fraud Ebola exploding and more

Strange things are happening in our world, and things seem to be getting more bizarre by the day. Here are six important stories unfolding right now that you need to be aware of.

(Original sources cited as appropriate.)

Ebola mutating and exploding; may reach 100,000 infections this year

From SHTFplan.com:

Vespignani is not the only one trying to predict how the unprecedented outbreak will progress. Last week, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimated that the number of cases could ultimately exceed 20,000. And scientists across the world are scrambling to create computer models that accurately describe the spread of the deadly virus.

“If the epidemic in Liberia were to continue in this way until the 1st of December, the cumulative number of cases would exceed 100,000,” predicts Althaus.

Medical police state in the UK unfolds as parents arrested for seeking advanced brain tumor treatment for son

The medical police state is alive and well in the UK, where parents have now been arrested for removing their child from a UK hospital and seeking more advanced medical treatments.

From the Associated Press

Brett and Naghemeh King signaled Monday they would fight extradition, defying doctors and the legal system as a British court considers a ruling on forcing the family to come home… The Kings are seeking a new type of proton beam radiation therapy that typically costs at least $33,000… Ethicists say the case is unprecedented, and has raised questions of how much power authorities should have in interfering with the will of parents in questions of life and death.

Japan urging citizens to stockpile toilet paper in preparation for next catastrophe

A massive toilet paper lobby consisting of Japan’s top toilet paper manufacturers has managed to convince the government to call for widespread toilet paper stockpiling. Apparently, toilet paper is now being promoted as far more important than food, medicine or even potassium iodide pills:

From The Associated Press

The government and paper companies kicked off a “Let’s stockpile toilet paper!” campaign to mark Disaster Prevention Day, warning of a possible crisis because nearly half of the supply comes from one of Japan’s most earthquake-prone areas. …A family of four should be able to survive for a month on a six-roll pack, priced at 460 yen ($4.40) and with a five-year expiration date, said Satoshi Kurosaki, chairman of the Japan Household Paper Industry Association.

What is relevant is this man and his team omitted data from the 2004 study CDC published in the journal Pediatrics that clearly showed a 340% increase in autism risk with MMR shots in little African American children. What were the risks to the rest of the kids and what else has that man and his colleagues defrauded the public ABOUT? This is the same guy who went on to coauthor a study on the safety of THIMEROSAL!

Can officials like Dr. Colleen Boyle, a co-author on this bunk study and director of the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD) at the CDC, be trusted when she tells Congress in sworn testimony that there is no connection between vaccines and autism?

Genetic modification of food and humanity is an “unfolding disaster”

From The Commonsense Show

More research and studies are published daily proving the extreme and detrimental health affects these organisms have on humanity with the long term ramifications still unrealized, yet their proliferation continues and accelerates… Scientist from across the planet are now sounding the alarm concerning the infiltration of GMOs into the wild, with some saying we are quickly approaching the point of no return were the damage will be irreversible.

Bill Gates pumping money into Cornell university to “buy” more GMO shills in academia

I’m really liking the news and editorials I’m seeing on TheLibertyBeacon.com, an up-and-coming truth media site.

From The Liberty Beacon

Now, in an effort to “depolarize” the GMO debate, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is making a multi-million dollar donation to one of America’s most prominent universities. The program, made possible through the Gates Foundation’s $5.6 million grant, reportedly seeks to help inform decision-makers an consumers through an online information hub as well as training programs, with the goal of educating on “how (agricultural technology, presumably GMOs) works,” as well as the “potential impacts” of agricultural technology.

There’s nothing quite like another multi-million-dollar grant to dictate the messages of academia, eh? This is also how quite a few “alternative” media organizations have sold out to GMOs. Once they receive grant money from Bill & Melinda Gates, they suddenly start spouting pro-GMO propaganda

5 proven ways to prevent and treat arthritis

Arthritis

Millions of people suffer from some form of arthritis. Since arthritis is commonly believed to be incurable, the standard medical response has been to simply prescribe medications to reduce the symptoms. This does nothing to heal the actual root of the issue, and only covers up the problem while potentially making other bodily functions worse.

However, the good news is that substantial evidence now shows that the pain and disability caused by arthritis can be alleviated, and even prevented through diet and alternative therapies.

Diet and nutrition

Dietary practices have a major impact on arthritis. In fact, if you eat the typical American diet, it is likely making your arthritis worse. Among the worst offenders for creating arthritic symptoms include:

– Hydrogenated and trans fats
– White flour and sugar
– Gluten
– Chemical additives
– Yeast
– Milk and dairy products
– Caffeine
– Alcohol
– Tobacco
– Phosphoric acid (large amounts found in soda)

A diet rich in fresh and organic fruits, vegetables, nuts and whole grains (gluten-free) is recommended, as they are richer in nutrients needed to fight destructive free radicals, promote skin and tissue health, repair bones, muscles and tendons, and promote bowel regularity. Try alkaline foods like green leafy vegetables, wheatgrass, aloe vera and cherry juice.

Herbal medicine

In addition to the foundational approach of diet and nutrition, herbs can also play a significant part in reducing inflammation often associated with arthritis. Some of the most recommended herbs for arthritis include:

– Turmeric
– Yucca
– Devil’s claw
– Willow bark
– Green tea
– Boswellia
– Ginger
– Ginseng
– Reishi
– Skullcap
– Valerian
– Feverfew
– Stinging nettle

High-quality sources of these herbs taken on a daily basis with a proper diet can provide significant relief of arthritic symptoms.

Massage

Massage is one of the most important therapies for the treatment of arthritis. People with arthritis often experience prolonged muscle tension with poor blood circulation in muscle tissues, which can cause nerve and joint pain.

Massage helps break up muscular waste deposits that can cause pain as well as stimulate circulation in troubled regions in the body, which helps bring more oxygen and other necessary healing nutrients into the tissues and carry toxins away.

Arthritis sufferers should pursue a massage program of 2-3 times a week in the early stages, then once a week for several months, with a maintenance schedule of twice a month.

Chiropractic

Chiropractic is becoming a popular, drug free treatment for arthritis that has been proven to be highly effective. Certain cases of arthritis, particularly osteoarthritis, are often false diagnoses with the symptoms actually caused by misalignment, or subluxation, of vertebrae and joints.

When this is the case, chiropractic adjustments can restore a full range of movement and free the body from pain. Manipulation can help arthritis by restoring proper movement and positioning of the joints. Balanced movement prevents “wear and tear” damage to joints, ligaments, and cartilage.

Acupuncture

According to Dr. William M. Cargile, past Chairman of Research of the American Association of Oriental Medicine, rheumatoid arthritis is a result of an autoimmune problem that prevents white blood cells from recognizing the joint surface as part of itself. He goes on to say that it reduces the aggressiveness of the body against its own tissues and enhances its recognition of the joint tissue. Also, by keeping the all the meridians balanced it keeps energy flowing smoothly and immunity strong, which is a major factor in managing rheumatoid arthritis effectively.

Other natural remedies to prevent and treat arthritis include bromelain, MSM, glucosamine, chondroitin, collagen, colloidal silver, arnica, pure water, and astaxanthin.

Green tea compound again validated in the fight against cancer development

Green-Tea-Cup

In matters of health and disease prevention, few things strike as much fear for many people as a diagnosis of cancer. This is especially true in the case of pancreatic cancer, a particularly aggressive form of the disease that has a survival rate of less than 5 percent after five years from diagnosis. Extensive research studies over the past 10 to 20 years have clearly shown that many forms of cancer can be prevented by following a natural food diet that eliminates deadly hydrogenated and trans fats and virtually all sources of sugar and refined carbohydrates as well. In the case of pancreatic cancer this lowers the burden on the pancreas to secrete high levels of insulin and other digestive enzymes that lead to reduced function of the organ and eventually to chronic disease.

In addition to diet, there is an ever growing body of work that demonstrates how natural compound extracts including curcumin, resveratrol and EGCG from green tea can specifically target cancerous cells to increase oxygenation and restrict blood flow that help prevent and even treat certain forms of cancer. A research team from the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute has released the results of their work in the journal,Metabolomics, revealing how an active component of green tea disrupts the metabolism of cancer cells in pancreatic cancer and offers an explanation for its effect on reducing risk of cancer and slowing its progression.

EGCG from green tea disrupts pancreatic cancer cell metabolism to halt disease progression

This research is among the first to explain how natural compounds interact with cancerous cells to help prevent or even reverse tumor progression. The study author, Dr. Wai-Nang Lee and his team were able to demonstrate how EGCG, the bioactive component found in green tea, is able to alter the metabolism of pancreatic cancer cells by suppressing the expression of lactate dehydrogenase A or LDHA, a critical enzyme in cancer metabolism.

Researchers explain that metabolism in cancer cells determine how the cells extract energy and are involved in chemical reactions allowing for the rapid development and out of control progression that is characteristic of the disease. Using advanced metabolic profiling techniques, Dr. Lee and his team found that EGCG disrupts the rate of turnover of molecules, known as “flux”, through a metabolic pathway in pancreatic cancer cells. They found that EGCG from green tea or supplementation reduced the risk of cancer by suppressing the activity of LDHA, effectively disrupting the metabolic function in cancer cells.

The scientists concluded “This is an entirely new way of looking at metabolism… it is no longer a case of glucose goes in and energy comes out. Now we understand how cancer cell metabolism can be disrupted, and we can examine how we can use this knowledge to try to alter the course of cancer or prevent cancer.” While this study examined the specific mechanism of the green tea compound EGCG and pancreatic cancer cells, an abundant body of research shows that many natural flavanols and catechins found in unrefined foods help to prevent a host of potentially fatal disease conditions.
